Fort Hancock

Sitting in the shadow of the most impressive peak in all the world, Fort Hancock is estimated to be almost 8,500 feet above sea level. It rests at the beginning of the only known pass through the mountains, but, to the west of the fort, the pass itself rises up to nearly 14,000 feet and is only open for a month or two a year. Hardly anyone ever takes that hard journey, but the fort is set to guard the border there. Rising out of the center of the keep, a tall stone tower keeps watch over the surrounding terrain. From the top of the tower, an observer can see all the way out to the Blue Sea, many many miles to the East. A small garrison of soldiers is stationed at the pass year round. It isn't exactly regarded as a good assignment. While the surrounding terrain might be beautiful, the winters are long and hard, practically burying the fort in snow. Usually, the assignment only lasts a year. A few Rangers of Threforfar also call Fort Hancock home as they patrol the Westworld Mountains.
