The Merfolk of the Blue Sea are an ancient race. Throughout
their history, they have displayed mystical talents by channeling arcane
energy with help from magical tattoos. By seeking out a Merman Lord,
a Ranger can gain such a tattoo, but first a service must be performed:
the Quest for the Mother of Pearls.
This small tattoo is in the shape of a crescent sea shell. A small pearl design is overlaid in its center. This gift links the Ranger's spiritual energies to the oceans allowing them to breathe underwater. WHen activated, that tattoo will glow with a soft, green light and slowly draw apon the Ranger's energies. A Ranger can deactivate this power (and drain) at will. This magick is not without its limits. Should a Ranger's spiritual energies become too weak,, the magick will fade and so too will the Ranger's breath!
Additionally, the Ranger will be gifted with extra knowledge should he or she also be skilled in husbandry and foraging. Those who can forage learn of additional plants found undersea with beneficial properties while those with husbandry skill can call apon the aid of underwater creatures just as they would be able to on dry land.
