This
small compass is constructed by the Dwarves of South Eastern Threforfar.
The compass is designed to track your movement so you can determine how
far you are from your starting point. It can even help you retrace
your steps. Be warned however, this simple device does not take into account
magical travel. Any true explorer needs such a device.
By opening your compass, you activate its use. By closing it, you stop its use. When open, you can use your compass to 'retrace' your steps, or at any time to give you an estimate of how far you are from your origin and in what direction.
The compass is required before a Ranger can learn survival skills.
